The Generalate of the CSST is located at Geddalahalli, Bengaluru. As the Congregation continued to grow and spread rapidly, it became increasingly difficult to administer it effectively from a single central location in Bengaluru.

By 1982, the Congregation had expanded into remote and underdeveloped areas in different parts of India and abroad. In order to facilitate better and more effective administration, the General Chapter of 1982 decided to divide the Congregation into four Regions based on geographical considerations.

Each of these four Regions was placed under the care of a Regional Superior, who worked in close collaboration with the Superior General. Sr. Bertille was appointed as the first Regional Superior of the Karnataka Region. She continued to guide and lead the Region until it was raised to the status of a Province.

The General Chapter of 1988 raised the four Regions to the status of Provinces. On 30 July 1989, Sr. Firmina was elected as the first Provincial Superior of the Karnataka Province.

With greater administrative freedom and responsibility, the Karnataka Province was able to respond more effectively to the needs of the people at the regional and local levels.
