The entire life of the sister is consecrated to God through Jesus Christ, His Son, in the Holy Spirit. This consecration finds expression and is renewed day by day through prayer both personal and common, and most of all in the celebration of the Eucharist. Following the teaching and examples of our Holy Mother St. Teresa, the sister will see in prayer the life-spring from which she draws strength, perseverance and joy in the accomplishment of her task. As she faithfully listens to the Word of God crying out to her in the voiceless, the suffering and the oppressed, she will experience the transforming love that will energise her to be patient in suffering and confident in adversity as she works to liberate people and help them experience the freedom of the children of God. It is through prayer that her entire life and work are tuned into a “living sacrifice holy and acceptable to God”. It should be the effort of every sister from the beginning of her religious life, to strive for an ever deeper union with God in prayer.
